LA Impact Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) 2026 Summer Internship Program

About:

Still looking for a summer internship? We have a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community. The LA Impact SME Internship Program offers students a hands-on, consulting-style experience while making a meaningful contribution to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the Los Angeles region. From June 1 through August 7, selected students will work 10–15 hours per week on real-world business projects that help local businesses recover, grow, and strengthen their operations. Interns will engage in structured, project-based assignments, including market and customer analysis, financial modeling, operational improvements, digital and marketing strategy, startup support, ESG/impact reporting, and business resilience planning. Many projects support mission-driven, community-oriented firms, including those affected by recent LA fires or operating in underserved communities.

Interns will work individually or in small teams and participate in periodic check-ins and reflection sessions that mirror a professional consulting environment. The experience culminates with a final presentation at the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC), where students share project outcomes, insights, and lessons learned.

Students selected for the program will receive a $2,000 stipend for two months of work plus the final presentation, which may be applied directly to tuition or received as taxable W‑2 employment income.

Eligibility:
