KDG - Business Development Intern (Summer 2024)

KDG Construction Consulting is offering a Business Development Intern opportunity for an exceptional student who is seeking to accelerate their post-graduate career and trajectory in business development.

About KDG: KDG Construction Consulting is a leading provider of program, project, and construction management services. The firm serves clients in a broad range of markets throughout Southern California, including aviation, transportation, and infrastructure. KDG provides a full spectrum of management and technical services spanning the entire lifecycle of a construction project.


In this 12-week internship program, the Business Development Intern will join our team at the corporate headquarters in Glendale, CA and learn from leaders across the entire organization. Our leaders will walk through how each of KDG's collaborative teams identify valuable pursuits, while also providing AEC industry knowledge and ensuring the selected intern learns meaningful on-the-job skills. 

This intern will be paired with a mentor on the team to dive into their internship focus. Interns will be given an authentic experience by working through real pursuit opportunities and contributing to the procurement process for meaningful aviation, transportation, and infrastructure projects. On the final day, all our interns will present their program accomplishments and celebrate how they made a direct impact on helping build corporate client portfolio!

Responsibilities
•    Assist the Business Development team with identifying new projects and public agency procurements within the Southern California region
•    Assist the TA team in proactively sourcing for passive candidates using online research methods
•    Assist in database management, configurations, and reporting metrics in Salesforce
•    Work independently and collaboratively with the corporate team on projects to drive continuous improvement 
•    Research and contribute to improving best practice initiatives for employment branding, DEI, and others

Program Details

•   12-week program that will be part-time during normal business hours (20-hours a week)

•   Hourly Pay Rate: $24 per hour
•    Tours of different field teams (Long Beach Airport, Ontario International Airport, LAX Airport)
•    One-on-one mentorship provided for each intern
•    Gain industry knowledge from a leading professional services firm
•    Learn from a personal internship to gain applicable professional skills and experience
•    Present internship accomplishments on final day of internship program
•    Possible contribution towards academic credits

Requirements and Qualifications
•    Enrollment in an accredited bachelor's degree program as a rising Junior, or Senior related to Business, Communications, Sales or other related majors
•    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employment sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
•    Strong academic track record (GPA of 3.0 or above)
•    Ability to commit to the entire 12-week internship program

Preferred
•    Relevant work or internship experience in HR or other professional settings (e.g., internships, externships, co-ops, summer positions, school jobs, and others)
•    Relevant Human Resources course work or research experience relating to internship
•    Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and others)
•    Experience using an applicant tracking system (e.g. JazzHR)
•    Proficiency in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)

This position will require in-person work (20 hours per week) in our Glendale, CA office and will report to the Talent Acquisition Manager. Remote work is not available for this internship role.
